FH Martin Constructors is one of a few Southeast Michigan construction companies to donate hard hats to volunteers who are going to Mississippi to continue the Hurricane Katrina cleanup effort. The hats are being collected by the Associated General Contractors of America Greater Detroit Chapter (AGC), and will be used by a group from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dexter, Michigan. The volunteers, who will be working through the National Relief Network, will travel to Mississippi the last week of July.

Hats off to AGC and the volunteers from St. Joseph's Church for taking the time to do such important work!

On Saturday, May 6, approximately 15 FH Martin employees and family members participated in a build for Macomb County Habitat for Humanity. The FH Martin group joined volunteers from Oakland University and other organizations to construct the floor decks and build sheds for two houses in Roseville.

This is the second time in the past year that FH Martin employees have donated their time to Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization which has built more than 200,000 houses around the world.

FH Martin is honored to have played a small part in preparing Detroit for the thousands of visitors who will be in town for SuperBowl XL festivities. Tiseo Architects selected FH Martin to team with them in creating a window display for the AIA Detroit Woodward Avenue Storefront Windows project. The purpose of the project was to spruce up storefront windows on Woodward Avenue with displays that make a positive statement about Detroit. Tiseo was one of 20 architectural firms involved in the project, and together Tiseo and FH Martin created a display featuring the Detroit skyline. Our display is featured in the Himelhoch Building at 1545 Woodward Avenue, just south of the People Mover and Grand Circus Park, and will remain there through mid-February.

Hats off to FHM Project Manager Mark Dyke for leading FH Martin's efforts on this project. Thank you to Tiseo Architects for getting us involved, and to A&Z Electric, Doors and Drawers and Conquest, Inc. for all of the effort you put into the display!
