Industry Involvement

FH Martin has always been known as a leader in the construction industry.  In 1998, FH Martin President R. Andrew Martin, Jr., served as President of the Greater Detroit Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). He was the fourth AGC president from
FH Martin, and the first third generation president in the chapter’s history. FH Martin founder
F. Herbert Martin served as chapter president in 1929-30, former FH Martin Vice President Boyd Armiger led AGC’s Detroit chapter in 1945-46, and FH Martin second generation president Robert A. Martin was president in 1974. In addition, Robert Martin also has been an active member of the Board of Directors of the national AGC, where he has served on and chaired multiple committees. He also served on the Executive Committee and is a past chairman of the Municipal Utilities Division of that organization. Currently, FH Martin staff members serve on a number of committees of the AGC, Greater Detroit Chapter.

In addition to AGC, FH Martin and their staff members are actively involved in a number of other industry organizations, including: the Construction Association of Michigan (CAM), the Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD), the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC); Commercial Real Estate Women, Inc. (CREW); and International Facilities Management Association (IFMA).
